My July Reads

IMG_7039.jpg

I didn't get through many books in July, mainly because of how long it took me to get through The Terror. It wasn't a bad book. In fact, there were places where I couldn't put it down. But Dan Simmons is clearly someone strongly inspired by the works of Stephen King, meaning The Terror is at least a third too long, dedicated chapters to random characters that don’t impact the story, and really trudges in places.

But I was happy to be able to squeeze in the next volume of Astro City, Honor Guard. If you've not read any of this series, then I really recommend them to you. On the surface, they are superhero stories, but beneath that, Kurt Busiek is telling a far more human story.
